History and Mission

Our mission is to enhance your life through sounds.

Pilot Light Radio was built with scrap from a T-71 Avalon Space Cruiser. Well, not really; but much of our early equipment looked like it came from an airplane or a ship. The station was actually built with the scrap from FM radio stations, other DJ’s, rock bands, an old theater, and countless volunteer hours.

After years of solder burns, RAM upgrades, and live productions, a group of DJ’s, technicians, and artists came together in an old printing factory to update the world of broadcasting. The result was Pilot Light Radio, and since then we have been gathering the sounds of our world and converting them into delightful listening experiences for you. Listening is fun!
